You may have seen some people complaining about the Windows 8 UX Pack, but this is nothing but an extension to the Windows 7 User Interface Pack that came with it. The purpose of the Windows XP User Interface Pack was to make the Windows interface look very similar to the Mac interface. When the new Windows interface was introduced the User Interface Packs was not included in the installation package of the operating system. So what's the difference between the two?
The main difference is the new user interface that was developed. The Windows 8 User Interface Pack does not have any user interface at all. You cannot click on the mouse to perform a task in this UI pack because it is not like any other UI pack before. You can't use the Windows Task Manager, you can't do anything, just wait and watch. In fact, it looks like a completely different operating system from the original one. It is like using Windows XP, without any extra software.
There are many websites that offer a demo of the different user interface. But you have to download them from these websites. Otherwise you will have to install the Windows XP User Interface Pack. And then, you would get a completely different Windows XP User Interface Pack than the one that comes with your PC.
